COLLEGE PRACTICE

Student Eligibility for Admission

The students who have passed +2 examinations are eligible toapply for the degree courses B.Litt., in aided and B. Com., B.Sc.,B.A., B.SW. and F.T. in Self-Finance section.

To study, B.Sc.(Mathematics), B.Sc.(Computer) and B.Sc.(Physics) the students must have to be studied a mathematics paper in school.

B.Litt Tamil or B.A. Tamil Literature or B.A Tamil graduates are eligible for the Master Degree Tamil in aided section.

B.Com. B.Sc., B.A., Graduates are eligible for the admission in M.Com. M.Sc., M.A. respectively.

 

Candidates who have passed in Post Graduate with minimum 55% marks are eligible to apply M. Phil degree programme.

Candidates who have passed in PG with minimum 55% marks and passed University entrance exam are eligible for Ph.D.Programme.

The decision of the college committee is final under government regulations regarding the admission of the students.

Student Regulation

Prayer song

All students must be in the classroom when the first bell rings. College starts daily with worship of God with a prayer song followed by college song. A student who does not attend the Divine Worship will be considered absent for morning classes. Students should sing only the prayer song and college song which is mentioned in this book.

Obeisance

Obeisance to the teachers or their elders on seeing them for the first time every day.

Conduct in class

Students should stand up, when the teachers come to the class and when the class is over. Conduct in class according to the teacher’s order.

Consent

Going out and coming in during the class should be done with the consent of the teacher.

Clothes

The students of both genders should wear clean and neat clothes.

Student Code of Conduct

The Common Application is required for students applying to any or all of Ganesar College’s degrees. You’ll be able to choose the campus and programs that you are interested in.

You will need :

  • Students must reach the college by 9.45 a.m.
  • Those who arrive after 10.00 a.m. will not have attendance record.
  • Candidates with low attendance record will not be able to take the examinations.
  • Students with low marks in Class Examination - Internal Assessment Examination - University Examination should come with their parents and meet the principal. Mark details will be sent to the parents by registered post.
  • Cell phones are not allowed inside the college campus for any reason. (College campus means - up to the college building opposite to the college and - up to 100 feet on either side of the college)
  • Students are not allowed to stand or sit for any reason in the morning in front of the college or on either side.
  • Students standing in groups chatting and talking on mobile phones inside and outside the college campus are punishable.
  • Appropriate action will be taken if complaints are received against students playing mobile phone songs in buses.
  • Eveteasers will be handed over to the police station.
  • Police action will be taken against those involved in violence.
  • Students found consuming alcohol in the college campus will be immediately expelled from the college.

Rules for Students Attendance

Ninety days (90) are working days for each semester. The students with 75% Attendance can write the University Examination without any restriction. Those students who have 74% to 70% can write the exam by paying a penalty amount of Rs.500 to the University. Those who have attended between 69% and 60% can appear for the exam by providing a medical certificate with Rs.500 penalty. Students who are debarred due to lack of attendance must complete the appropriate application form through the College Principal to the Coordinator of University Examination.

Only the student with proper attendance record can write the internal assessment examination. Students who fail in the internal assessment test should pay Rs.750 (Rupees seven hundred and fifty only) to the university and get the permission of the examiner and approach the appropriate professor and write the re-examination.

Those with less than 60% attendance will not be allowed to appear in the University Examination. They must re-join at the appropriate time with the permission of the registrar and can write the examination.

 

Dress Code for Students

  • All the students should wear full-sleeved shirts and they must tuck-in it properly.
  • The students should wear thin line, thin cross line or light colored shirts.
  • Jeans pants are not allowed.
  • All students must bring a black book bag (laptop size) with books and notes that can be worn crosswise on the chest or on their Shoulders.
  • Rope ID - Students should wear the ID card around their neck. Anyone without identity card will not be allowed inside the college.
  • If the students studying in the college have to stop before the completion of the studies, the transfer certificate and othercertificates will be issued only if the students come with their parents or the guardian who has signed the application for admission to the college. Certificates cannot be issued for sure if only students come with other holes.
  • Students who do not read the above rules and students who do not agree can meet the principal along with their parents.
  • All the rules in this schedule have been developed considering the moral and academic interest of the students. Therefore, the principal has all the rights to take appropriate action against those who commit irregularity, lack of interest in the subject, complacency of principal and teachers, absenteeism, disobedience of college rules and other misdemeanours.

Internal Assessment Exam

Assessment Type Marks
University Examination for 25 marks. as below
Examination 15 marks.
Quiz and Group Discussion 5 marks.
Assignments 5 marks.

 

An internal assessment test will be conducted. There will be three internal assessment tests for each paper. The average marks of the three highest marks will be calculated.

Each paper will be graded out of 5 by the professors conducting the respective subject based on the group discussion conducted by the professor at the end of each unit and student participation in the quiz events.

Students are required to submit an assignment for each unit covered in each paper. A score of 5 marks will be awarded based on the quality of the assignments submitted by the students.
