One of the important committees set up to maintain a sound and healthy environment while pursuing educational goals and objectives is the anti-ragging committee. The notice board and college website both feature the anti-ragging committee’s information. For the 2023–2024 academic year, the college’s Anti-ragging Committee was established in accordance with the directives of the Tamilnadu government, UGC, and the Honorable Supreme Court. The members of the committee are listed below; they will handle complaints about ragging and take appropriate action.
The committee will decide and finalize Anti Ragging Regulations for the institution, in accordance with the prevailing regulations of various statutory bodies.

Installation of CCTV Cameras:
CCTV Cameras were installed at vital spots in the campus to keep a check on the activities of the students in the college premises. The monitor installed in the principal’s office also helps to maintain a round-the-clock vigilance on any kind of unlawful activity by the students. More CCTV cameras were installed at vantage points in the hostel premises to ensure the safety of students.
Anti-ragging Undertaking
As per the instructions of the government, Anti-ragging Undertakings were sought from all students at the time of admission. The submission of the document ensures the students’ commitment of compliance with the government’s policy of eradicating ragging. Students were also asked to fill Online Anti-Ragging Undertaking at the National Portal of UGC and GOI(www.anti-ragging.in and www.amanmovement.org) while filling up the online admission form of the college. UGC Guidelines on the Menace of Ragging and a Sample of Anti-ragging Undertaking Form was made available on the College Website for the facility of the students
Display of Posters:
Colorful and thought-provoking Posters regarding the menace of Ragging are displayed at various places with in the college campus and hostel to warn and sensitize the students about this evil
UGC’s & AICTE’s Rules & Regulations for Prevention and prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutes The Hon’ble Supreme Court has, inter-alia, mentioned the following types of ragging: –
The human rights perspective of ragging involves the injury caused to the fundamental right to human dignity through humiliation heaped on junior students by seniors; often resulting in the extreme step of suicide by the victims.
Actions to be taken against students for indulging and abetting in Ragging in technical institutions Universities including Deemed to be University imparting technical education:
(i) Cancellation of admission
(ii) Suspension from attending classes
(iii) Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits
(iv) Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process
(v) Withholding results
(vi) Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
(vii) Suspension/expulsion from the hostel
(viii) Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters
(ix) Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
(x) Fine of Rupees 25,000/-
(xi) Collective punishment: when the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
